Allergy Therapy

Allergy therapy involves using specialist diagnostic techniques to identify food intolerance and allergies. A treatment programme is then discussed with the options of homeopathic desensitisation or NAET (Dr Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) and Nutritional changes with possible supplementation.

NAET Treatment
NAET (Dr Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) is a combination of various medical disciplines such as acupuncture, chiropractic, kinesiology and nutrition.  The NAET treatment stimulates pressure points along the spine from the neck to the sacrum whilst the patient is holding an allergen.  Specific acupressure points are then massaged to stabilize the treatment, the patient then rests for 10-20 minutes. The allergen must then be completely avoided for 25 hours following the treatment.

Allergens are treated and cleared one at a time, in a specific sequence.  After the treatment, a strong MRT (muscle response test) indicates that the allergy has been removed.

What is Food Intolerance - Delayed Hypersensitivity?
Food intolerance is much more common than food allergy. Food intolerance or non-allergic food hypersensitivity is a delayed, negative reaction to a food, beverage or food additive. It can involve symptoms in one or more body organs and systems, but is not a true allergy as the immune system is not activated.

The reaction within the body could take up to three days. These foods or substances are less easy to identify and Muscle Testing will detect these foods so you can either eliminate them from your diet, take desensitising homeopathic remedies (ordered for you directly from the British Institute for Allergy & Environmental Therapy in Wales) or a NAET Treatment Programme can be discussed.

Symptoms of Food Intolerance
Because the onset of symptoms are often delayed, they seem to bear no relationship to diet at all so people intolerant to the same food may have entirely different symptoms, just as people with the same symptoms may be intolerant to quite different foods.

Symptoms of food intolerance can be surprisingly varied:

  • Persistent tiredness
  • Weight gain
  • Bloating
  • Digestive and stomach trouble
  • Candida overgrowth
  • Backache
  • Swollen glands
  • Depression
  • Anxiety attacks
  • Palpitations
  • Irritability
  • Headaches
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Skin conditions
  • Aching joints and muscles
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Childhood hyperactivity

Diagnostic Test Methods

Muscle Testing or Applied Kinesiology
The patient lies on a couch and potential allergens are placed on the abdomen or held with the finger tips and the body’s sensory system detects the presence and nature of the sample.  If the patient is allergic to the sample the muscle will immediately go weak, if there is no sensitivity the muscle will remain strong. The patient is actively involved in the testing procedure so is aware of what substances are causing energy imbalances for them personally.

If there is a sensitivity found, further muscle testing will be done to ascertain whether the allergens are causing imbalances physically, chemically or emotionally within the body.
